Starr and Aungela at Grand Central Station

Women, a bed, and their make-up. A terrible combination!

Crooked hip syndrome, Aungela? ;-}

Starr just taking it all in.

A before shot

Gargoyles outside our hotel window.

The view out our hotel room window.
Clarion Hotel - Fifth Avenue
$181 a night. YOUCH! And it's just a middle priced hotel, too!

Taking a carriage ride through Times Square and Midtown Manhattan.

Night traffic and the Empire State Building in the background.
And the view from Madison Square Park. (?)

Times Square at night! I tell ya, I felt like a country bumpkin who had just fallen off the turnip truck when I rounded the corner and walked into all the glitzy and flashy madness! "Hey Aungela! Hey Starr! Look at that over there! Oh wait, no, look over there!" |

Ahhh. . . the ladies

Times Square

Times Square

Advertising madness of Times Square, and little ol' Aungela.

"Look at me! I'm in Times Square!"

Aungela. And steam.

Me and my scratched reflection in front of a tourist shop.

Me, Starr and Aungela in Midtown Manhattan.

Muffin anyone?

I don't know why, but I always have to take at least one picture of my foot wherever I go.

The Chrysler Building. Briefly the world's tallest building in 1931.

During our whole time in New York Aungela kept saying, "Daniel, why don't you show your teeth when you smile?" Me: "I don't know." Aungela: "Well SMILE!" Me: "You mean like this?" Aunglea: "No, NOT like that!" |

Typical Midtown Manhattan street and I love it!

One's neck muscles definitely get a thorough workout in Manhattan.

|
Nice building facade in Midtown Manhattan with Star of David. Don't remember too many Christian or Islamic symbols etched into other office buildings though. |

Manhattan! Manhattan! Manhattan!

Standing in line atop the Empire State Building.

Are you trying to say something Starr? ;-}

Empire State viewing deck minus the WTC over my left shoulder.

"Daniel, why don't you show your teeth when you smile?"
"I don't know."
"Well SMILE!"
"You mean like this?"
"No, NOT like that!"
(It's a decent view of my chompers though!)

Manhattan from atop the Empire State Building.

How the Twin Towers would have appeared. A friend of mine from New York City recently said to me, "I can't stand to look at Lower Manhattan with that gaping hole in its skyline." |

|
Upper Manhattan as seen from the Empire State Building. Our hotel is located between the tall striped building in the foreground and the building under construction just behind it. It was an EXCELLENT location to stay! |

Me with the Chrysler Building over my shoulder.

Hey look! Two sexy ladies in Manhattan!

Manhattan simply could not function without taxis.

Above and below: me and nice little courtyard next to a mobile Starbucks.

Aungela and I at the General Post Office on 8th Avenue across from Madison Square Gardens where we just stood around people watching and discussing international politics and the Middle East for well over an hour. |

|
I was caught by the contrast of this street side window shot: ritzy art auction and connoisseurs de painteur sitting therein with a cheap 99 cent store neon sign reflecting above them all from across the street. If only they knew. . . |

|
"Daniel, I know you don't ever like admitting it when you're lost, but I really think the post office is this direction." |

|
The Citicorp Center - Half owned by Prince Waleed of Saudi Arabia. The building was completed in 1979 and the sharply sloping roof was originally intended as a solar energy project, but strangely was never completed. |

Fascinating ground floor architecture of the Citicorp Building.

Such construction allowed the pre-exististing church site to remain.

50th Street pretzels

St. Patrick's Cathedral - site of the Archdiocese of New York.
Construction completed in 1874.

A glass tower disappears into the grayness of an October day.

Infamous site of the Today Show on NBC!

Today's topic: pumpkins and other Halloween decorations.

Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center: statue of Prometheus

Rockefeller's 70 floors.

Beautiful flower display in the plaza (Photo taken by wonderful family of Japanese tourists totally excited that I could yap it up with 'em in nihongo!) |

Flowers! Flowers! And more flowers!

Window with tourist goods for sale. Note the crystal Twin Towers which were fore sale everywhere.

What's up with this no standing law???
Clearly not Califoria English!

"Daniel, if you don't put that camera away. . ."
