I'm Daniel, NOT the Queen Mary! ;-}
Waiting for the old lady to show up. . .

Thar she sails with a heroine's welcome!

The Queen Mary 2 approaching the Golden Gate Bridge with not a lot of space underneath it to pass!

The welcoming water canons a'blarin'

The Queen barely just fits under the Golden Gate Bridge.
She's the largest ship to ever sail into the San Francisco Bay in over 220 years.

Passing fully into the bay

The Golden Gate Bridge and Queen Mary 2

Me with the biggest queen in San Francisco!

154,000 gross tons, length of 345m/1,132ft, and 72m/236ft tall.
15 restaurants and bars, 5 pools, a casino, a ballroom, a theater and a planetarium!
Wikipedia has a great website on the Queen Mary 2 at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Mary_2
There's a spectacular graphic comparing this ship with the Titanic (not to titanic after all!) and an Airbus 380.
The Queen Mary 2 truly is a magnificent ship!

Sailing in San Francisco Bay

Me trying to be artistic

Yet another rustic, artistic attempt. Hmm. . .

Greeted by hundreds of sailboats across the bay

Me, the Queen Mary 2 and the San Francisco Bay

My beloved San Francisco with the Palace of Fine Arts in the fore

At 345m/1,132ft long, the Queen Mary 2 is 26m/85ft longer than the Chrysler Building in New York City is tall (see below).
Imagine, it's like a skyscraper sailing the sea!

The Queen Mary 2 sailing toward Pier 27 at the base of Nob Hill along the Embarcadero in San Francisco with Alcatraz in the background

Me enjoying yet another spectacular day in San Francisco!
